Information for Pastors

Greetings, fellow pastors, and welcome to a community dedicated to the support and encouragement of confessional Lutheran pastors and congregations. At the United Lutheran Mission Association (ULMA), we are steadfast in our commitment to upholding the pure proclamation of the Word of God and the faithful administration of the Sacraments, in accordance with Christ’s institution. Whether you are seeking fellowship with other pastors who share your confessional convictions or are looking for a seminary that is rigorously training the next generation of confessional Lutheran pastors, we are here to walk alongside you in this sacred mission.

We understand the challenges you face in ministry today. From the need for strong pastoral leadership in established congregations to the desire to plant new mission congregations that faithfully confess Christ, the ULMA stands as a resource and partner in these efforts. Our association exists to foster independent Lutheran congregations grounded in the truth of Scripture and the historic Lutheran Confessions, and we are committed to offering you the support and fellowship necessary to ensure the Gospel is proclaimed with clarity and power.

If you are nearing retirement and concerned about the future of your congregation, or if you are passionate about planting a mission congregation that remains unwaveringly faithful to the Evangelical Lutheran Confessions, we invite you to consider our association. We work diligently to connect pastors with congregations seeking confessional pastors and to support the establishment of new congregations where the Word of God can take root and flourish. We’re developing a network of like minded pastors to help us plan for future mission development.

In partnership with Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Decatur, Illinois, we also proudly support Walther Theological Seminary, which is dedicated to training men for the pastoral ministry in the tradition of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. This seminary equips future pastors to continue the long legacy of preaching the Gospel and administering the Sacraments faithfully, ensuring that Christ’s Church continues to grow and thrive for generations to come.

As we stand together in this mission, we look forward to building Christ’s Church on the foundation of sound doctrine, faithful service, and vibrant, confessional communities. We invite you to explore the many resources and opportunities for fellowship within our association. It is our prayer that God will guide and bless you as you seek His will for your ministry, and we are honored to partner with you in this vital work for His Kingdom.
